RIOLA – CONSTRUCTION OF THE CHURCH OF SANTA MARIA ASSUNTA (1 of 4)
Within the religious building sector, the Company built the Church of Riola from the Finnish artist Alvar Aalt’s project. The idea of the artist was to use wood although a number of prefabricated concrete elements were finally chosen. The main structure is made of 6 arches with different sections and dimensions, prefabricated and divided into three parts that were soldered before the laying. For the covering a number of particular elements called “sails” were used.

BOLOGNA - FIERA DISTRICT (1 of 3)
The Fiera District area, of 143.200 square meters, is coverd with buildings on a surface of about 20.000 square meters; GRANDI LAVORI FINCOSIT SpA. has been working on a part of those buildings. The lots n° 1,2,3, the garages in the square and the hotels together with the directional buildings are included in the interventions starter by GRANDI LAVORI FINCOSIT SpA. The volumetric plan for the whole district called Fiera District is signed by the artist and architect Kenzo Tange. The project is set according to a constant plan so that it is easier to introduce the technological installations and finisching; it enables the use of uniform flooring, of false ceilings with incorporated lighted bodies and modular windows and doors frames. It is prepared for any type of initial or final internal distribution. The general level of the finishing works equal the prestige of the buildings that is one of the most important directional centres of our age. The construction of the Fiera District area is an operation involving more than 700.000 cubic meters of buildings. Around 70% of the whole district has been realized by means of an outstanding prefabrication technique: using a number of cylindrical components that are 5 meters wide and 3,64 meters high. For the building of the three towers with 21 floors each 252 cylinders have been produced, 378 elements for each elevator opening, 880 pi greco bent tiles for the floors, 880 pillars-beams, 500 linear metres of helicoidal lines for the stairs. All the elements that directly face the external surface have been produced with white pozzuolana cement and pinkish grit and have gone through a final bush-hammering treatment.
