Italy, Riola - Church building based on Alvar Aalto’s project |
|
Within the religious building sector, the Company built the Church of Riola from the Finnish artist Alvar Aalt’s project. The idea of the artist was to use wood although a number of prefabricated concrete elements were finally used. The main structure is made of 6 arches with different sections and dimensions, prefabricated and divided into three parts that have been soldered before the laying. For the covering, a number of particular elements called “sails” have been used.
